Folkway Co. Mercantile in St. Joseph, Louisiana

OPEN: Thursday - Saturday 10-2

St Joseph is a tiny delta farming town located on the Mississippi River. With community effort, the once dead downtown is returning to vibrancy. We are proud to be one of 8 shops and art galleries (and two restaurants) in downtown St. Joseph.

Located 1/2 mile away from downtown is Lake Bruin, a beautiful oxbow lake and state park. Locals from Monroe, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Vicksburg, and New Orleans come into town to enjoy lake in the summer and in hunting season.

The trick, like most forgotten spaces, is to save the town while maintaining its traditions and history. If you know anything about us, Folkway Co. is up to the challenge. Visit the mercantile the next time you’re in town.

“Our style is a bit eclectic…timeless…and hip (we know that’s quite the combination). You never know what you’ll find here: a piece of locally crafted pottery, the coolest backpack cooler you’ve ever had for the lake, or a handmade outdoor tool made to be passed down to future generations.” — Kimber
